Key process of the tomato paste processing line

1. Discharge platform

When fresh tomatoes, usually in a big truck, come in handy, it's going to be very difficult. So we designed the release platform to release the fresh fruit/tomatoes from the truck using water cannons and we also use water to transport the fresh fruit/tomatoes to the processing line. And the unloading platform also has a function, it can pre-wash fresh fruits/tomatoes before processing.

2. Elevator

This machine is used to delivery fresh fruit from outside the building to inside.

3. Washing

Fresh fruit needs to be washed carefully before crushing. For washing we can use foam washing machine and spray washing machine together. If washing requirements are high, more washing steps can be added. In addition, for better cleaning effect, we can add ultrasonic cleaning and ozone cleaning.

4. Sorting

After washing, the surface of the fruit is clean, we can check the situation of all the fruit by human eye, and sort out the bad tomatoes by human.

5. Crushing for tomato processing

GFM-FC series crusher has advanced working principle, higher manufacturing precision and best crushing function. Mainly used for crushing a variety of fruits or vegetables, such as: tomatoes, apples, pears, strawberries, celery, etc. This machine is composed of feeding hopper, side cover, frame, main shaft, bearing seat, motor, motor structure, discharge hopper, etc.

6. Preheating

The pre-heater is used to heat the product after crusher, the temperature is adjustable, normally from 45℃ to 85℃. This processing step, would help to higher the juice rate for next step, and also can protect the color and taste of the final product.

7. Pulper and refiner

The rotating speed of this machine is 1470 rpm, which generates centrifugal force, and the product passes through the screen, which is beneficial to the refinement of the product. And we usually use a double stage of pulper and filter, each stage has different screens, the first stage has a larger screen and the second stage has a smaller screen. The yield of tomato pulp of the two-stage pulper can reach 90%~95%. After beating, the tomato skin and seeds will be separated from the tomato pulp. The machine has a large workload and stable performance; easy to operate and replace the screen; suitable for a variety of fruits, including passion fruit, tomato, peach, apricot, mango, apple, etc.;

8. Evaporating

Vacuum Evaporator is used for concentrating the tomato paste under vacuum and low temperature. Here we are using Forced Circulation Vacuum Evaporator. Because it’s under vacuum and low temperature, so the tastes and nutrients would be protected as much as possible. And right now, we evaporate the water from the tomato pulp, then we will get the tomato paste, normally the Brix is 28-30% and 36-38%.

9. Sterilizing

For ketchup, we use a tube-in-tube sterilizer for sterilization. Sterilization temperature and holding time are adjustable. Using this machine, we heat the ketchup to a high temperature of about 115°C for 30 seconds, then immediately cool down to ambient temperature. This also preserves the tomato paste and tests the nutrients as much as possible. The whole system adopts programmable control. The operating system adopts an image man-machine interface, which is convenient for implicitly understanding the running status of each component of the equipment.

10. Aseptic Filling

The aseptic filling machine works together with the tube in tube type sterilizer. It’s a closed cycle. Before production, the cycle will be fully sterilized to make sure the aseptic environment. And the filling cavity is also protected by steam to make sure the filling environment is also aseptic. Safety - providing several security methods. Using mirror welding tech to ensure tidy and smooth welding line. Separate control panel. CIP and auto SIP available together with sterilizer. Easy to adjust to match the different volumes and sizes of aseptic bags

11. Storage or go blending

The finished product can be stored or used as the raw material to make the tomato sauce or ketchup.
